What we did
To help define the site development proposals, we undertook research and analysis to quantify the demand for, and supply of, specialist elderly accommodation in South Oxfordshire
This identified an evidence based quantum of elderly needs accommodation for the site, which was incorporated into the masterplan
It was part of a larger piece of research to identify the site’s development potential, for retail, employment and community infrastructure
The research helped persuade planning officers and other local stakeholders about the appropriateness of including elderly housing in this location during the pre-app process
Defining these local and county wide housing, health and wellbeing benefits, helped make the case that planning consent be given despite the site not being allocated in the Neighbourhood or Local Plan
