delivery of high-tech 
laboratory and office space

Bidwells worked on several new buildings to accommodate research laboratories and office space - which also included a roof terrace. We also reconfigured access and created a new multi-storey car park.

What we did

  • We undertook extensive stakeholder engagement to ascertain departmental layouts that would improve working efficiencies across the business. This exercise was then fed into the building layout and interior design

  • We managed the design process and construction programmes to align with external funding milestones and client cashflow. New high-quality facilities were delivered in the middle of a live site

 

Result

  • The first two phases of the new building were delivered on time and to budget and in line with the client’s growth strategy.

  • The third phase of the new build is currently underway on-site and will comprise approximately 50,000 sq. ft of new office and laboratory space with welfare facilities for the entire campus. This includes a canteen, dining room and extensive showers to support sustainable travel.

  • In order to maximise the use of the site, the building also includes a roof terrace and garden for use by employees. This allowed landscaped areas to be released for car parking and other functions.
