The Abbeyfield Society is a supported housing and care home provider with over 120
properties throughout the UK. As a number of properties were no longer viable in their current condition to be used as homes for the elderly, Bidwells was initially instructed to value one of the properties for sale.
Bidwells was project manager of a project consisting of 65 self-contained residential units, with communal facilities including; kitchen with catering services, large dining room, TV lounge, salon, laundry, assisted bathrooms, a private internal courtyard and 24-hour support staff.
Bidwells was instructed by Castleoak Limited and Levanter Developments to provide heritage advice in support of proposals to redevelop the Grade II Listed Lower Mill and its Grade II Listed Granary for a 53-bed extra care facility.
Bidwells was instructed to act as commercial agent on behalf LNT Care Homes to identify and purchase land within Welywn Garden City to build a three storey, 66 bed care home forming part of a large mixed-use development.
Bidwells were instructed to find an appropriate offsetting site and prepare evidence that would be used by the appellant at Public Inquiry, to show that the active management of the
donor ‘Offsetting’ site would result in a sustainable net biodiversity gain.
Bidwells was instructed to provide specific market and agency advice on the purchase of Blakelands, one of the one largest industrial estates in Milton Keynes, at 564,380 sq ft. Estate occupation was increased to its highest level since opening.
