Monkfield Nutrition, Shingay cum Wendy

The Urban Design Studio has developed master plan proposals for this site within a rural South Cambridgeshire village.

Comprising 10 new dwellings, this master plan vision is in support of an outline application to enable the removal of the existing business located on the site to a new and lawful site outside the village.

The master plan has been developed to react to its village edge location, with farm-yard style clusters of dwellings in rural materials sited within a network of public and semi-private open space. This open space includes a proposed Environment Agency corridor to allow management and monitoring of North Ditch, with upgrades to an existing Public Right of Way through the site.

Land off Gibson Green, Witham St Hughs

Bidwells Urban Design Studio have developed an urban design strategy for this proposed residential infill, forming part of the new north-eastern boundary to the village of Witham St Hughs, Lincolnshire.

Consideration of key views from the surrounding Public Rights of Way have informed the built form, with properties arranged to create a positive frontage, with native hedgerow and trees proposed to provide glimpsed views of the proposed dwellings.

Proximity issues between the nine proposed detached and semi-detached dwellings have been mitigated through the addition of tree’ d corridors abutting existing property boundaries, referencing existing strands of woodland which run through the wider area. A publicly accessible open space will provide benefit to the wider community.

Land off Campion Way, Witham St Hughs

Bidwells Urban Design Studio has provided an urban design strategy and masterplan as a part of a proposed residential infill, on the north-eastern boundary to the village of Witham St Hughs

Nine detached dwellings have been proposed surrounding a Village Green, on substantial private plots.

Proposed blocks of woodland integrated into the development provide visual separation from adjacent existing dwellings, and replicating existing woodland blocks throughout the local area. Existing trees have been retained at the entrance to the site, with this open space to be retained for public use.

The proposed entry to the site features proposed woodland planting, to relate to existing woodland opposite.
