Bidwells announce new Consultant Adviser
19 May 2010Brian Stewart has been appointed by Bidwells as a part time Consultant Adviser on Public Engagement and Consultation and will take up his appointment with immediate effect.
Brian is now a portfolio non executive director and consultant, following a career of over 27 years in local and regional government. A qualified planner he was previously the Chief Executive of the East of England Regional Assembly (which prepared the East of England Plan) and Chief Executive of two Scottish local authorities. He is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, the incoming Chair of Wherry Housing Association, a member of Circle Anglia’s Strategy Board and a non executive director of the West Suffolk Hospital Trust.
Commenting on his appointment Brian said “I am delighted to be joining Bidwells in an advisory capacity at an interesting but challenging time for planning policy and delivery. I have unique contacts with local authority leaders and senior officers, and an excellent knowledge of planning opportunities for sustainable growth and delivery. Bidwells already has an excellent track record for the professionalism of its planning services and its approach to stakeholder and public engagement and I look forward to assisting the progress of a number of high quality strategic schemes to meet local and regional needs.’’
