EDP Bidwells Norfolk Food Festival - Launch
08 July 2010The great and good of the Norfolk food scene gathered on Friday 3 September to mark the official launch of the EDP Bidwells Norfolk Food Festival. The event was held at The Top of the Terrace at Norwich City Football Club, overlooking the manicured pitch.
Guests were given a taste of what would be on the menu throughout September with a spectacular spread of canapés devised Delia Smith and her Executive Head Chef, Chris Pope, made from locally produced ingredients. The drinks for the evening were provided by Adnams, Festival Sponsor and Norfolk Cordials, Festival Participant.
Richard Woolliams, Bidwells' Group Marketing Director, in his role as Chairman of the Festival introduced Delia Smith who, as he puts it, was his guiding light in the kitchen throughout his student days and into married life. Delia knows all about the finest ingredients and where to find them and expressed her passion for Norfolk produce. Pete Waters, Editor of the EDP, outlined the role of the EDP in the Food Festival and the importance of good food in the community.
Guests received a 'goody bag' with samples and more information on the events, over1000, that will be taking place throughout in September.
