About cambridge science parks 40th anniversary..

Cambridge Science Park was the first Science Park in the UK and the decision to build the Park was taken with astonishing speed. In 1970, just 12 weeks after the publication of a feasibility study prepared by a University committee, the College sought planning permission.

The 152 acre site is now home to more than 90 companies and over 5000 people. The range of buildings allows for flexibility for the changing fortunes of high-tech companies often expanding at a significant rate.

Cambridge Science Park is recognised around the world for its contribution to high tech enterprise. The close collaboration between companies on the Park and the University of Cambridge will ensure the Park has and exciting future, and one which will continue to thrive despite downturns in the world economy.
