evolution business park

the transformation story

A national energy provider has become the latest company to move onto the Evolution Business Park, Cambridge.

Bidwells, acting on behalf of Cambridge Realty Ltd, has successfully completed the latest letting at Evolution Business Park to national energy provider SSE.

SSE has taken Unit 13 which will act as their eastern region hub and training facility. It will also be home to their Smart Metering distribution warehouse to service the local area. The unit measures approximately 10,000 sq ft and is a mixture of offices, meeting rooms and warehouse.

Patrick Stanton, Partner, Business Space Agency, Bidwells, said:

This letting follows on from the recent lettings to Intelligent Fingerprinting Ltd (11,500 square feet) and NET LED Lighting (14,500 square feet) both of who have taken bespoke space on the business park.

Intelligent Fingerprinting Ltd have a mixture of office, laboratory and storage areas which were designed by the tenant and constructed by the landlord, fitting out the unit to that specification including bespoke laboratory benches and glass walled meeting rooms.

The lettings complete a remarkable transformation for the former redundant poultry units into high-spec office accommodation on the edge of Cambridge which have been developed to meet the growing demand for space in the ever expanding City.

Bidwells is now advising the landlord who is preparing to speculatively develop Phase 3 which will be a 55,000 sq ft office facility at the front of the business park.

The building will be across two floors and has been designed to a Cat A standard able to accommodate office requirements from 5,000 sq ft upwards at rent from £19.50 per square foot.

Some 30,000 sq ft of the space is already under offer and demand remains strong for the remaining space from a wide range of office and tech companies.
