Without a doubt the most recognisable form of renewable energy in this country today is large scale wind turbines between 60-120m high. They can be seen installed on hilltops from John o Groats to Lands End, providing a significant contribution to the electricity requirements of the UK. It is anticipated that electricity generated from onshore "wind farms" will make up over 20% of the countries electricity supply by 2020.
