The residential Development Team provides a comprehensive consultancy service, buying, selling and advising on residential development land for landowners and developers alike across the Eastern Region, Midlands and beyond. The Team offer clients specialist advice across all property sectors in order to identify development opportunities and maximise values.

The Planning Department provides a comprehensive planning service to a range of public and private clients.  It provides core skills to developers and landowners in planning and development appraisals, planning applications, planning appeals and land promotion within the residential, commercial, retail and rural sectors.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Good knowledge and understanding of using Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Excellent administrative and organisational skills
Good typing skills, including digital audio
Excellent telephone manner

Accounts Assistant

The Finance Department is responsible for providing strategic, management and operational financial support to the Firm. The Credit Control team is part of the Finance department and has responsibility for overall debt control management, banking and reporting. The Accounts Assistant would be part of the Credit Control Team and would report in to the Credit Control Manager.

Job Purpose

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the entire banking process and policing our sales ledger, which includes identification and posting of all incoming sales receipts; daily reconciliation of our bank account, query resolution and providing general support to the Credit Control team.

• Identifying incoming BACS receipts and accurately posting the receipts directly into the accounting system.
• Identifying incoming cheques and accurately posting the receipts directly into the accounting system.  Ensuring that all cheques are correctly recorded on our internal cheque log and that the cheques are ready for collection by midday.
• Processing of PDQ payments.
• Policing the sales ledger and dealing with all refunds, transfers, overpayments, underpayments, posting of journals and credit note allocations.
• Managing the separate client account which is used for mixed receipts (fee and client monies).
• Daily bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
• Responsible for filing and maintaining all paperwork and files relating to all incoming payments and ensuring that there is a paper trail on file.
• Calling clients and colleagues to progress banking queries.

Person Specification
• Banking or accounts experience.
• Numerate and accurate.
• Attention to detail is a key requirement.
• A good standard of general education to include GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Computer literate. Good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Excellent telephone manner

Graduate Landscape Architect

It is a key part of the planning process, involving the shaping of villages, towns and cities, as well as the countryside. The Urban Design Studios Team sits within the Planning Division, and is an integral part of the largest Planning Consultancy in the Eastern Region.

The purpose of the role is to assist the Head of Urban Design Studios to provide professional advice and act in the best interests of clients with regards to all landscape/urban design and planning matters.

The ideal candidate will:

Have a degree (or equivalent) in Landscape Architecture and/or Urban Design
Have a specific interest in Masterplanning and Urban Design
Be proficient in Auto Cad, Adobe systems and digital drawing/presentation packages such as InDesign
Have hand drawn and graphic presentation skills
Have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to show initiative in furthering projects.
Be able to act independently but also as part of multi-disciplinary professional teams.
Initiate and prioritise work, and meet deadlines without jeopardising quality.
Have good interpersonal skills with a helpful and approachable manner.
Be able to accept, interpret and develop instructions in the best interests of clients and in accordance with RTPI, LI and Bidwells procedures.
Have a full driving licence

The role comprises working in Commercial Property – including Office, Shops, Business Space, Education and Healthcare premises, development sites.  To add value to clients through delivery of excellent property related advice.

The team undertakes valuation and consultancy work on a wide variety of Commercial Property across the Region.  You will take responsibility for your own client workload and provide strategic advice to corporate occupiers in single properties and portfolios.  You will provide formal Red Book valuations for a variety of purposes.  You will be required to undertake development appraisals as part of valuing development sites and to work with other Bidwell teams to provide strategic advice to clients, including our in-house Building, Planning and Residential teams.
