Description:

The role will involve undertaking secretarial and administrative duties for the Trimley Fund Management Team to ensure day to day and project driven administrative tasks are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.   A strong team ethic is essential to this role with a willingness and ability to work well with others within the team, sharing ideas and identifying and implementing improved ways of working.  Key to the role is the ability to work closely with other members of the Fund Management team both in Trimley, Cambridge and Norwich, as well as a wider Bidwells team to ensure a seamless delivery of administrative support across the services is delivered.

The ideal candidate will:

Have strong audio and copy typing skills
Have excellent IT literacy, minimum of intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Be able to work on own proactive initiative as well as part of a team
Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have a good level of numeracy.
Have experience of dealing with a variety of people, both internal customers and external clients, via a number of mediums including telephone, face to face and email.
Pay high levels of attention to detail

Graduate Landscape Architect

Description:

Landscape architecture encompasses the analysis, planning, design, management, and stewardship of the natural and built environments. It is a key part of the planning process, involving the shaping of villages, towns and cities, as well as the countryside. The Urban Design Studios Team sits within the Planning Division, and is an integral part of the largest Planning Consultancy in the Eastern Region.

The purpose of the role is to assist the Head of Urban Design Studios to provide professional advice and act in the best interests of clients with regards to all landscape/urban design and planning matters.

The ideal candidate will:

Have a degree (or equivalent) in Landscape Architecture and/or Urban Design
Have a specific interest in Masterplanning and Urban Design
Be proficient in Auto Cad, Adobe systems and digital drawing/presentation packages such as InDesign
Have hand drawn and graphic presentation skills
Have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to show initiative in furthering projects.
Be able to act independently but also as part of multi-disciplinary professional teams.
Initiate and prioritise work, and meet deadlines without jeopardising quality.
Have good interpersonal skills with a helpful and approachable manner.
Be able to accept, interpret and develop instructions in the best interests of clients and in accordance with RTPI, LI and Bidwells procedures.
Have a full driving licence

Assistant to Chief Operating Officer (20-25 hours per week)

Bidwells is looking for a self-motivated Assistant to provide high quality support to the Chief Operating Officer.  

The key responsibilities within this newly created role will be:

  • Assisting COO in day-to-day as well as strategic management of the COO role and interaction with the business.
  • Assisting with the production of first drafts of documents, reports and presentations.
  • Assisting COO with her role as Chair of the Operations Group and member of Main Board (preparation and follow up).
  • Pro-active management of COO diary and travel arrangements.
  • Assisting with management of the Business Support Teams eg setting up meetings, taking minutes, following up on deadlines, ensuring reports are submitted to COO on time and assisting with internal communications of the Business Support roles and achievements. 

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and will be tenacious, flexible and driven by the need for continuous improvement.  Ideally the candidate would also have some people and project management experience.

The role of Senior Landscape Architect entails assisting the Head of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture, Cambridge to provide professional advice and act in the best interests of clients with regards to all landscape/urban design and planning matters.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have Urban Design and Master Planning experience
  • Be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute
  • Have a relevant undergraduate / post graduate qualification
  • Have Professional experience in Landscape Practice or in a relevant area in Central or Local Government, with working experience of the English Planning System.
  • Be experienced in the preparation of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment, planting plans,  Photomontages, 3D Visualisations and working drawing packages.
  • Have an acute awareness and understanding of issues affecting the economy and the implications on the business
  • Be IT proficient, particularly conversant with MS Office package
  • Have excellent report writing skills and excellent business English with good attention to detail
  • A willingness to grow networks and carry out Business Development activities
  • Have a full driving licence as travel will be required to all our office locations
