Planner / Principal Planner

As a Planner or Principal Planner you will provide professional advice and act in the best interest of clients with regards to all town planning matters. You will work as part of a team on a variety of projects as well as leading teams on small-medium scale and less complex projects depending on previous experience. You will report to the Planning Team Leader and other senior colleagues, but it is important that you are someone who undertakes tasks using initiative as well.

Town planning will be a main responsibility for you. You will take new job enquires and contribute to or prepare fee proposals, as well as undertaking site assessments and any other duties of a town planning or administrative nature.

In addition to town planning responsibilities, you will also be accountable for managing both internal and client relationships, developing and planning business, and more with this interesting and varied role.

 Your Profile

  • You possess relevant undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualifications
  • You are either eligible to become or you are a Licentiate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute or you are a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute
  • Previous experience in a planning consultancy role is desirable but not essential
  • You are commercially aware, client focused and dedicated to providing professional, creative and innovative solutions, adding value at every opportunity
  • You have had a  degree of individual responsibility for leading and managing small to medium sized projects
  • You understand the issues affecting the economy and the implications for planning consultancies
  • You have excellent communication and report writing skills, strong attention to detail and work well both as part of a team and independently
