Planning permission for 2,450 homes and community facilities

A new urban extension to Aylesbury to provide new homes and community facilities and also the key transport routes required to serve the local area.

 

What we did

  • Advised on planning strategy to secure a draft Local Plan allocation.

  • Coordinated a project team on behalf of Barratt Strategic and Ashfield Land Limited to secure outline planning permission.

  • Advised on section 106 formulation and implementation.

  • Progressed outline planning permission to secure detailed planning permission for the first phase of development
    (492 homes).

  • Advised on progress of future phases including detailed planning application
    for 859 homes.

 

Result

  • Allocation of the land in the draft Aylesbury Vale District Council Core Strategy.

  • Secured outline planning permission for 2,450 homes plus 10 Ha business park, two primary schools and a site reserved for a secondary school; strategic highway infrastructure and creation of RSPB managed wetland reserve in 2013.

  • The development is regarded as exemplar by the RSPB where sustainable drainage married with the creation of nature reserves and by efforts to encourage new habitats within the proposed urban form.

  • RTPI 2016 Awards Winner for Excellence in Planning to deliver housing.
