An internationally renowned Biomedical Campus forming a cluster of high-end life science research and development facilities and contributing to the wider Addenbrooke’s Hospital campus.
What we did
Worked with the landowner and promoter to achieve outline planning consent for 215,000 sq m of floorspace to create world-class biomedical research and development facilities and additional clinical floorspace to enhance the long-established Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
Worked collaboratively with stakeholders and the Local Authorities to achieve a development that would fulfil the necessary research and development function, but in a way that fostered open working within a campus comprised of high quality architecture and public realm.
The development has been highly sought after by potential tenants and is to include bespoke buildings to provide for Papworth Hospital, AstraZeneca and the Medical Research Council.
The success has spearheaded the next phase of the Biomedical Campus to come forward which is for a further 75,000 sq m of floorspace which Bidwells has led through the planning system, achieving committee resolution to approve in August 2016.
In parallel with this second phase, Bidwells assisted in the delivery of detailed consent for its first occupier, Abcam Plc.
290k sq m
of new floor space.
