Bressingham Hall

What we did

  • We identified the opportunity from a strategic review of our clients’ property holdings

  • Identified good quality operators for the wedding/hospitality venue (The Venue Group) and for the Hall (Mulberry Cottages), to work with our client through the project and to operate the venue and let the holiday hall

  • Obtained difficult planning consent for conversion of the curtilage listed High Barn and high quality marquee, together with consent to replace it with a permanent timber frame building in three years time

  • Designed the venue and managed the project start to finish with the client

  • Facilitated the majority of the funding through the sale of peripheral farmland

  • Negotiated the ‘Concession’ agreements with the operators for our client

Result

  • A top quality wedding and events venue set in 17 acres of stunning privately owned gardens providing a unique opportunity for the ‘special day’

  • Restoration of the heritage High Barn and renovation of the beautiful Georgian Hall

  • Valuable new income source for the client to complement existing horticultural businesses

  • Bookings coming in fast for the Wedding/Hospitality venue and for the Hall ‘holiday/party venue’.

After a considerable investment, our new business venue, Bressingham Hall and High Barn is beginning to take off, with bookings of weddings and holiday accommodation steadily coming in. Bidwells’ team were instrumental in helping us turn our vision into reality, offering a more innovative approach which no other company seemed to offer.
