Planning permission and development grant funding obtained for a tourist attraction in the Norfolk Broads. 25 acres of marshland and woodland was to be transformed into an exciting treehouse adventure playground, attracting over 100,000 visitors in its first year.

What we did

  • Worked to obtain an unusual planning consent for the development of a childrens’ adventure playground in the Norfolk Broads.

  • Worked to secure a grant from DEFRA’s Rural Enterprise Scheme, which contributed significantly to the capital costs and the viability of the project.

  • Worked as a team to deliver this successful tourism project.

  • The project required close coordination with a range of consultants to produce an ecological assessment, transport assessment and landscape assessment.

 

Result

  • Gained planning consent and grant funding for the adventure playground

  • Grant obtained.

  • Hoveton Fruit Farm benefited from a carefully selected team of professionals who were chosen for their skills, expertise and relevant experience in similar projects.

  • Its success was primarily due to the quality of the scheme and a strategy for extensive early consultation with key bodies.

  • Award winning BeWILDerwood is a major visitor attraction for Norfolk.

  • An excellent example of high quality, sustainable tourism development which maximises the client’s assets.
