A new home for

Annabel's club

for The Birley Group

Relocate the world famous Annabel’s Club to its new home in the Grade I listed 46 Berkeley Square.

What we did

  • Secured planning permission and listed building consent for the new Annabel’s Club, Health Centre and Day Club

  • Negotiated internal alterations to a Grade I listed building to facilitate its transformation into the new Annabel’s

  • Gained political support for a new retractable sliding glazed roof over the courtyard terrace restaurant to allow external dining.

  • Produced a detailed Heritage Statement drawing on in depth research to support the scheme.

  • Maintained a good relationship with Officers despite the contentious nature of the proposals.

  • Established early dialogue with Historic England to brief them on the proposals so the scheme could respond to their comments.

Result

  • Established the iconic and world famous Annabel’s in its new home.

  • Client can relocate the Club in line with their demanding timeframe on opening for members

  • Successful negotiations with Council Officers, Local Councillors and Historic England

  • Addressed the Council’s stringent planning policies on very large entertainment uses securing permission for over 500 covers.

  • Achieved permission for a unique glass roof on a Grade I listed building
